Mark Donatelli has been practicing law since 1986, and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1981. Mark graduated with honors from the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign in 1981 with a B.S. in Accountancy. He received his law degree with honors from DePaul University College of Law in 1986. Prior to starting the firm, Mark was associated with the Chicago law firms of Mayer, Brown & Platt and Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon, and as a result of his tenure with these law firms has extensive estate planning and tax experience.
Mark’s practice is concentrated in the areas of wills, trusts, estate planning, probate, income tax preparation and planning for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates and not-for-profit organizations as well as creating new corporations/limited liability companies and related corporate transactions. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mark was associated with the public accounting firm Arthur Andersen LLP for several years. Mark was a member of the Village of Hinsdale's Plan Commission for six years. Mark also is a former member of the Board of Directors and is a past Officer of the Rotary Club of Hinsdale and the Hinsdale Central Foundation. Mark is currently a member of Busey Bank's Northern Illinois Advisory Board, a past Director of First Community Financial Bank, a past member of Adventist Hinsdale Hospital’s Civic Advisory Board, a past Building Trustee for the Hinsdale Chamber of Commerce, a past Treasurer of the Hinsdale/Clarendon Hills Jaycees and a Volunteer to the American Cancer Society’s Hoops for Life Fundraiser. Mark also coached teams for Hinsdale Little League Baseball, the Community House flag football program and Saint Isaac Jogues Basketball.
Peter Coules, Jr.
Peter Coules, Jr. has been practicing law since 1986. Peter graduated with honors from the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign in 1983 with a B.S. in Economics and a B.A. in Political Science. He received his law degree from DePaul University College of Law in 1986. Prior to establishing Donatelli & Coules, Ltd. with Mark, Peter was an associate and then a partner with the Chicago law firm of Stotis & Baird.
Peter has extensive corporate, municipal, not-for-profit, and commercial and personal injury litigation experience as a result of his tenure with this law firm. Additionally, he has experience dealing with clients in the areas of real estate, land use, corporate contracts/transactions, wills, trusts, estate planning and probate. Peter is a former elected Trustee of the Village of Lemont, a former Director of First Community Financial Partners and is currently a member of Busey Bank's Northern Illinois Advisory Board, a member of the Board of Directors of the Donald J. Doody Foundation, a Director and Co-Founder of Project Infinite Green, member of the Butler University Parent Council, and present Board Member and past President of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Oak Lawn. Peter has also coached teams for Lemont Little League and Sts. Cyril and Methodius Volleyball and Basketball during the past several years.
Patrick C. McGinnis
Patrick C. McGinnis has been practicing law since 2014. Patrick graduated magna cum laude from the Saint Louis University in 2009 with a B.A. in Political Science and International Studies. He graduated cum laude from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2014. Prior to joining Donatelli & Coules, Ltd., Patrick was an Analyst with Gerchen Keller Capital, LLC, an investment and advisory firm focused on legal and regulatory risk, where he worked on deal sourcing and origination. Patrick is also an active volunteer and foster for ALIVE Rescue Chicago, a member of the Rotary Club of La Grange, and member of the Small Business Advocacy Council. Patrick lives in La Grange Park with his wife, Kirstin, daughter, Maeve, son, Teague, and dogs, Murphy and Milly.
Kathleen M. McGovern
Kathleen M. McGovern has been practicing law since 2001. Kathleen graduated from the University of Dayton in 1994 with a B.A. in History and Minor in Philosophy. While attending law school at DePaul University College of Law, she was an Application Consultant with LexisNexis for the large accounting firms throughout the Midwest. She was an associate at Cotter & Associates, LLC in Darien, Illinois where she focused on estate planning, business succession, asset sales and commercial real estate transactions. While at Cotter & Associates, Kathleen continued coursework on Estate and Gift Tax Planning at John Marshall Law School. Prior to joining Donatelli & Coules, Ltd., Kathleen was primarily raising her three children who are now in high school and junior high. Kathleen has coached Riverside Little League Girls Softball since 2010 and serves on the Riverside Little League Board. She has helped coach other youth sports in Riverside and at St. Mary School in Riverside.
